Between 5pm on Thursday 4th March and 9am Friday 5th March a number of vehicles were damaged while parked outside properties on the High Street, Puckeridge.
On Sunday 28th February, a business property in Mill End, Standon, was subject to a burglary where a large amount of property was taken. Several vehicles were seen around the area at the time of the incident. Furthermore, two vehicles on High Street, Standon, had number plates stolen between lunchtime Wednesday 24th February and the morning of Friday 26th February.
On Monday 8th February 2010 7-8pm in the Lankester Room at the Community Centre, Station Road, Puckeridge, Stansted Airport Police will be giving a talk about the work they carry out in Hertfordshire and in particular, in your area.

Standon Embroidery Group is seeking new members. The group meets with a qualified tutor usually on the second Tuesday in the month in the Sargents Room at Standon Village Hall from 7.30pm - 9.30pn.
On Sunday 17th January at approximately 2115 hours, a burglary took place in one of the business premises in Mill End, Standon. A large amount of property was taken and offenders were seen making off in a silver Mitsubishi type 4x4 vehicle.
Following articles that you may have seen or heard in the national media about an incident at the home of Myleene Klass near Potters Bar, many of the articles did not portray accurately what actually happened. Hertfordshire Constabulary officers dealt with Ms Klass sympathetically and with respect, as they do with all members of the public who call for their help.
The Locality Panel Meeting for the villages to the East side of the A10 was held on Wednesday 13th January 2010 and the objectives for The Buntingford Safer Neighbourhood Team to Police for the next 3 months were set.

Due to the adverse weather conditions, it was not possible to bring the Mobile Police Station to Puckeridge and Standon today (Sunday 20th December) as advertised. This will be rearranged for a later date.
Earlier in the year, three youths from Puckeridge and Standon were found to have caused damage to some of the facilities around the Community Centre by graffiti. As part of their punishment and with the support of the Standon Parish Council, they will be serving some voluntary community service, in the way of litter picking, around the Community Centre. Graffiti, whether it is a small drawing in pen on a wall or larger pieces created with spray paint or permanent markers, is criminal damage and will not be tolerated by the Buntingford Safer Neighbourhood team.

The mobile police station will be visiting Puckeridge and Standon on 20th December. Huntsmans Close 11.15am, Community Centre 12.30pm and Standon High Street at 2.00pm.
There will be no Parish Council meeting in December.
AS THE FESTIVE SHOPPING season draws near, and the opportunities for thieves and pickpockets increase, Herts Police is asking shoppers to look after their purses and wallets. Look out for the retro 'public information' style posters displayed in local shops and supermarkets. Police are also working with local partners in CCTV and shops to detect and deter thieves.
Road Safety Week - 23 - 29 November. This week sees the launch of national Road Safety Week and with defective tyres featuring as a key factor in serious collisions, the top topic for Herts Police and its partners is tyre safety. You can help by both checking your own vehicle over as well as sharing the message with members of the public, friends and family. It is essential to have correctly-inflated tyres in good condition - not only as a legal requirement, but as a critically important way to help keep safe on the roads. Why not also take the opportunity to give your vehicle a general check-over to ensure it is set for the winter-weather road conditions?
This week there have been a number of burglaries in Standon, which is very unusual for this area. These incidents have taken place in the hours of darkness and it is likely that they occurred during the evening rather than after midnight. Offender(s) have broken into two properties and a number of sheds and taken various items as well as entering gardens after damaging fencing around the properties.

As part of Operation Guardian, the force's burglary prevention and reduction initiative, an online crime prevention tool for the public has been developed - a virtual 'house' which they can explore to discover advice on how to keep safe and secure.
Certain alarm companies are in the habit of cold calling by telephone trying to sell alarm systems. These calls should be ignored and if you are interested in getting an alarm it would be advisable to contact in the first instance your Crime Prevention Officer.
On Sunday 8th November 2009 at approximately 12.15pm an address in Tanners Way was the victim of a Burglary. Neighbours spotted a male acting suspiciously in the street looking into houses and approaching doors. They very quickly called police who attended the location just as the offender was leaving the property with a laptop. The male was arrested and is currently in custody.
In November there will be major changes to waste and recycling in East Herts.
Two vehicles were broken into and a number of power tools taken between Friday 9th and Monday 12th October in the Puckeridge and Standon area.
A distraction burglary occurred in Stanelow Crescent between 1050 and 1100 hours on Monday 12th October. Offenders have knocked at the door saying they were trying to fix a water leak and whilst offender one stayed with the victim offender two has gone upstairs to search. They then left via the front door.

On 24th September a distraction type burglary occurred in Hadham Road, Standon between 1.45 and 2:00 pm. A description given of two male suspects: White, aged 20-25 years, short height, medium build wearing jeans and blue & white shirts.
Police in Bishops Stortford have arrested and are in the process of prosecuting Rogue Traders who have obtained £10,000 from an elderly lady, who lives alone, who was the target of these people repeatedly visiting her house and conning her into doing unnecessary jobs at her property.
